The Hal Far Model Flying Association held its site inauguration ceremony on Sunday 9th October. Present at the ceremony were a number of guests and members of the association. These included Hon. Luciano Busuttil, Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport Mr Chris Agius, shadow minister for Local Councils, Youths and Sports Hon. David Agius and former prime minister Dr Lawrence Gonzi. A number of guests, the association president Mr Arthur Napier, and the association secretary Mr Pierre Bonello, addressed those present at the ceremony. A commemorative plaque was also unveiled and blessed by Fr. Dionysius Mintoff OFM. Afterwards, the beautiful weather permitted guests and visitors to be entertained by flying displays as well as a static display of over seventy radio-controlled aircraft.
The President of the Republic H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca also paid an official visit later in the afternoon. In her speech, she also congratulated the association on reaching this important milestone.
